27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

The 27th annual SAG Awards nominees were announced this morning (Feb. 4, 2021), honoring the best in both film and television. The 2021 Golden Globe nominations announced yesterday left some viewers upset as favorites were overlooked. However, the SAG nominations didn't disappoint.

While Spike Lee's Da 5 Bloods was completely shut out of the Golden Globe nominations, the film scored multiple SAG nods, including Outstanding Film Ensemble. Minari also earned three nods, one for Best Ensemble, Steven Yeun for Best Actor and Youn Yuh-jung in a supporting role. Chadwick Boseman received two posthumous nods, one as lead actor for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and another as supporting actor for Da 5 Bloods.

On the television side, Bridgerton, which was also snubbed at the Golden Globes, earned a nod for Best Drama series and a nod for Regé-Jean Page as Best Actor. Michaela Coel, who earned rave reviews in the HBO limited series I May Destroy You, was finally given recognition in the Best Actress in a miniseries category. The Crown and Schitt's Creek continue to reign this awards season.

The SAG Awards will be broadcast on TNT and TBS on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at 9 p.m. ET. Check out the complete list of nominations below. ~Marriska Fernandes
