OMG!

December 20, 2014

Oh my god to say the least. This is a small rural town only one theatre, when this theatre opened nearly 15 years ago it showed promise! Fresh..New, Arcade etc. Flash to now: sky high ticket prices, higher then big city concession prices and with stale popcorn and flat pop! If you add the outdated decor, the broken seats, the sticky floors, the un-trained poor minimum wage staff, you have a nightmare!!! If you thought it couldn't be any worse: your wrong! Now along with the high prices and bummy unkept location, they now don't have a ticket counter! You have to buy your tickets at the crappy concession stand! I imagine this is a effort to save paying someone 10.50 hour to sell tickets & drive concession stand sales: if you really want to do that? Lower ticket & concession prices, up customer service, & above all stop showing ridiculous 3D movies that cost $15+ Each! thumbs wayyyyyyy down!!!!! The old Armond theatre was better!!!! What the heck cranbrook? As if there isn't a bigger market for a new theatre if this is the only competition!!!

disappointed again

September 26, 2015

I have now been disappointed in our theatre so many times that I feel I have to say something. On the last 3 occasions, the popcorn has been full of kernels, cold and chewy and far too salty! We have consistently refused to buy drinks at the concession for a long time now as the drink machine was low on syrup and the drinks were weak and tasteless many times. On at least 5 times in the last 2 years, there have been technical difficulties such as no sound or no picture on the previews or twice the show actually stopped about 2/3 of the way through and we had to wait for an extended period of time to see if it would start again or we should just leave.

The only choice, and they know it

October 08, 2013

Prices are horribly out of sync with what they are offering; I've paid the same at Chinook theater in Calgary where they actually have good seats, sound, and picture. The concessions are a complete joke. $12 popcorn and $6 drinks, and the only thing resembling actual food if you're hungry is the giant pretzels from the machine which is never working. Add to that the fact that they only accept cash at the concession, and they want you to use their ATM which charges additional fees. If they weren't the only theater in town, I don't think anyone would ever go there. And they know they have no competition, so they keep charging exorbitant prices for the crap they do offer. Seriously, it's worth my while to drive four hours to Calgary if I want to see a good movie on a decent screen; especially if it's a 3D picture! The staff are at least friendly and relatively efficient at moving a lineup, or else that place would be a disaster!

I have two complaints about this cinema. One I registered a couple of years ago about fixing issues in the ladies washroom. That issue was finally resolved ,however it did take head office intervening to have that happen. Once again there is hardware missing that should be there in th ladies bathroom and has been missing for at least 6 months if not longer. On to the second issue I have... The marquee board out front of the mall and the one by the entrance door should have the movies playing and the times. Not so here... We have to call or go online to find out what is playing. That is not customer service. I very rarely go to movies now because I no longer know what is playing. I really don't care for the Internet and prefer not to use it so out of sight out of mind also don't have cable so don't see trailers or commercials. Your manager has dropped the ball on this one as I know many people who think the same way.

Bad seats

December 06, 2016

Seats are always scabby, narrow and old. I don't mean old like nostalgic, I mean decrepit old like the furniture in your Great Grandmother's basement old. If they had to replace the place with new seats, they'd probably have to forfeit a number of seats due to their size but all they'd have to do is keep the movie open for other theater times and could easily make up the difference. Wouldn't it be nice to have 10 blockbuster busy nights instead of 5? Popcorn is usually leftovers and is almost always chewy unless there is a blockbuster on a busy night!! If you're new to the theater here on holidays, you will be disappointed. The toilets ALWAYS have something wrong with them and seems to be only fixed by a family of monkeys. Too often we have seen billboards for upcoming movies only to find they never arrive here. Pretty sad. No, not sad, depressing.

Outrageous Prices for a small rural town!

November 26, 2014

I can understand going to Calgary or big cities and paying a pretty prenny for a movie. Cranbrook has stale popcorn and pop, the price for that is the same as your ticket! The experience is not great, the seats are uncomfortable, and there is no monitoring of audience when the movie starts! Cell phones are on, people talk loud...seriously, I can do that at home with great pop corn!! I will wait for a day out of town to get the big city experience.
