Hello? Anyone there?

December 23, 2014

On reading the reviews of this small theatre, one has to wonder if the powers that be 1. Read them, and 2. Even care, given this is the only theatre in town. Now to my sad story, so consider sitting in your chair waiting for the movie, no, let's start with the usual trailers, to start. Waiting..waiting.. Ok, so hubby gets up and goes to find out what the hell is going on, and finds the kid who is supposed to be running it, on his cellphone doing lord only knows what. We always hear about distracted driving, well now we can add distracted projectionist to the list ?? So.. To the powers who are supposed to be running the show(s)..wake up and smell the popcorn. Oh wait. Stale popcorn doesn't smell.

OMG!

December 20, 2014

Oh my god to say the least. This is a small rural town only one theatre, when this theatre opened nearly 15 years ago it showed promise! Fresh..New, Arcade etc. Flash to now: sky high ticket prices, higher then big city concession prices and with stale popcorn and flat pop! If you add the outdated decor, the broken seats, the sticky floors, the un-trained poor minimum wage staff, you have a nightmare!!! If you thought it couldn't be any worse: your wrong! Now along with the high prices and bummy unkept location, they now don't have a ticket counter! You have to buy your tickets at the crappy concession stand! I imagine this is a effort to save paying someone 10.50 hour to sell tickets & drive concession stand sales: if you really want to do that? Lower ticket & concession prices, up customer service, & above all stop showing ridiculous 3D movies that cost $15+ Each! thumbs wayyyyyyy down!!!!! The old Armond theatre was better!!!! What the heck cranbrook? As if there isn't a bigger market for a new theatre if this is the only competition!!!

Outrageous Prices for a small rural town!

November 26, 2014

I can understand going to Calgary or big cities and paying a pretty prenny for a movie. Cranbrook has stale popcorn and pop, the price for that is the same as your ticket! The experience is not great, the seats are uncomfortable, and there is no monitoring of audience when the movie starts! Cell phones are on, people talk loud...seriously, I can do that at home with great pop corn!! I will wait for a day out of town to get the big city experience.

long wait to purchase ticket

October 19, 2014

I am very tired of having to purchase my ticket from the concesstion instead of the ticket counter. I do not buy popcorn and pop but have to wait for a very long time in a line up to purchase my ticket. If there was another theatre in town I would never go back to this one. Service sucks big time. Not everyone likes to stuff their faces at the movies.

Best theatre in town!! But...

June 14, 2014

Also the only one! I am grateful that we have a theatre. It's just needs a little TLC. We need an adult there to set some customer service standards and to show the kids how to clean up. And as long as concession prices are double or triple outside prices, we will continue to bring our own. It would be nice to be able to buy a fresh cup of coffee and tea!

It's a Decent Theatre

April 26, 2014

Don't listen to the whiners here. I've never had a bad experience at the Columbia Theatre. Considering where it is located, it is a good, decent theatre, and the best place within miles to watch a movie on the big screen. If you desire the generally superior amenities that big cities offer, move to a big city.
